Instead, the picture starts off all black before the object that's blocking the screen pulls back: it's the heel of a boot, and it stomps down again a good few times before delivering a kick that sends the communicator skidding across the floor and into the far wall.

A mostly incoherent tirade, peppered with all kinds of colorful curses, accompanies this display.]

[Eventually, though, the fit of rage subsides, a hand reaches down to pick up the communicator, and a scowling face comes into view, only slightly obscured by the thin crack that's appeared across the top right corner of the screen. There's a few seconds of frowning, and then a blink of comprehension and he realizes that the device is on and capturing what he says. He doesn't know who's listening, but he has to assume that he can talk to the Powers That Be this way.]
